RETURNING TO ESO · UPDATE 51

Start fresh. Keep it simple.

Choose the steps that fit your character. This is a flexible preparation checklist, not a required leveling order.
A few old assumptions have changed.

Warden, Orsinium and Imperial City are now part of the base game. Scribing and Antiquities are also included. Necromancer and Arcanist still require their own class access.

01

Start here

Record owned classes separately from the zones you can currently enter. ESO Plus does not itself unlock Necromancer or Arcanist.

02

Start here

Begin with native class lines and a playstyle you enjoy. Subclassing can wait until you have a reason to use it.

Check Path to Adventure eligibility. It targets new and returning accounts without the account-wide level-20 achievement, not every fresh alt.

Find your rhythm

Spend a short session practicing block, interrupt, dodge and your recovery action. Choose one thing to improve next time.

Find your rhythm

Research consumes an item. Check its value before selecting it, and remember that the learned trait belongs to that specific item type.

06

Find your rhythm

Choose whether a second bar makes your play more enjoyable. One-bar play does not automatically require Oakensoul.

Build your direction

Scribing is free. Entry requires level 30 or Champion System access. Save a future Grimoire/script goal; exact skill calculations are not part of this planner.

Build your direction

A set-collection unlock is different from an item you own and can use. Crafted sets are not part of the Item Set Collection.

Build your direction

Champion Points and subclassing are separate systems. Decide on your next goal; you do not need to adopt both at once.

Give yourself room to learn.

Choose a class fantasy first. Add a build project when it helps you decide what to do next. Harder content, subclassing and Mythics can become goals later.
